Flawlessly and Uniquely Designed

November 4, 2015

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21

If we were to rewind the tape of our lives we would come across the small, nearly imperceptible miracles of grace that have shaped the person we are today. Many of which didn't look like a blessing at the time. I'm sure you can think of a few at this moment. In recent memory I think of the time when I lost my job and couldn't think of how I would survive let alone thrive. I was devastated and couldn't see what good could come out of the situation.  In those moments I was sure I had made a terrible turn and things were sure to go downhill from there, but they didn't. I got another job not too long after, one that has a great career ladder and an even better work environment. Soon after I found myself chuckling at my previous panic, mainly because of the lesson I realized life was teaching me. Faith. 

Putting faith in the future is extremely difficult, but absolutely necessary. Faith reminds us that Jesus can do more than we can ever fathom, that he has a plan that is flawless and uniquely designed for each of us.  All we can do is our part. We must work hard and give it our best, especially when the urge to throw in the white towel hits, and have faith that he will handle the rest and we will achieve what we've set out for. 

Nothing great, nothing worthy of attaining has ever happened without a sense of failure along the journey or without faith. The best thing to do during those dark moments is hold on hard to your faith and ...

Pray
  • Real desperate prayers. God is here for us and communicating with him, even when it's anger will help us see his purpose. 
Connect
  • Hold on to his words and promise. In them we will find the roadmap to the other side. 
Share
  • Don't shut-out the world. Share what you're going through with those you love and trust. 
Express
  • Have a healthy outlet. Who knows how God will communicate your next step.
