Concerts, Granolas, and Other Things I Loved this Week
Hi Love,
Summer is fully on and this past week was so good for being outdoors and having a good time. I took full advantage of the perfect weather, and I do mean high 70s, low 80s with just the right wind conditions to stave off the humidity. I know not everyone is enjoying summer sunshine, like my mom who's been dealing with constant rain down in Miami. So I welcome you to live vicariously through me, for at least this week. That's why I love living fully in each season for what it is. Summer is so fast pace with long days that make you wanna do everything! But as I shared last week, I'm really about the quality over quantity. So here are a few things I loved over the past week:
Make Your Room Feel Lighter and Brighter with This Material
Hi Love,
I'm a Bohemian and nature aesthetic kinda gal. When I curate my rooms I always aim for it to feel like a stroll in a beautiful garden. I mix plans, open space, and furniture pieces made from airy earthy materials. And none is more popular than rattan at the moment. I am obsessed with it. So much so that I added a chair I really wanted to my prayer list! I kid you not! And God answered! Amen! Rattan is a beautiful material that instantly make any space instantly lighter and brighter. So in this post, I've shared a few of my favorite and affordable wicker (a type of rattan weaving) pieces. One other place to find great rattan pieces are thrift stores and online sites like Craiglist.
5 Things You Can Learn from Spring, Yes Spring!
Hi Love,
It's the last month of summer, but I would be remiss if I did not share my thoughts and the lessons I've learned from experiencing my first official spring this year. The post is mighty delayed, but it won't be denied! I sincerely do not have the words to express what I experienced. I was completely taken by surprise by spring. If you're new here that may sound strange. I'm a Caribbean girl who has spent the last two decades in Miami. Though I've traveled, Spring is season that's best seen through the elapse of time. And Spring in Washington, DC was one for my books! Coming out of winter, I simply waited with bated breath for the leaves to sprout on the "bald" trees! I was not ready for anything else! I didn't even think of anything else! And then the flowers came! The came and they never stopped coming! And if there's one thing to know about me it's that I LOVE flowers!
