Hello Love,

That’s no typo. Welcome to NEWvember. A month of novelty and fundamental change, both in my personal life and in America. As I'm writing this, we've had our 2020 President elections here in the US and the results are still pending. I have hope that we will elect a different leader than what we've had for the past 4 years. I'm always one to embrace change because I believe that we can always improve and get better. I sincerely hope and I'm actively praying for this nation to reflect on the past 4 years. As a Black immigrant woman my perspective on this country is different that someone who does share those identifiable attributes, but that does not prevent someone from intentionally shifting their perspective. That's my hope for this new month, that we would all welcome something different; that we would challenge ourselves to see life from a different vantage point. This November is about change and new beginnings. Here's how I'm hoping to embrace this new month:

Manifesto

What I'm Looking Forward to this November:

Changing up my goals

"There's nothing special about January 1st"- A saying I came across a year ago that's resonated with my planning soul. January is the poster child for new beginnings. It's the time of year when everyone is thinking about their plans for the new year. And I for one I'm among those who love setting resolutions. However, I'm beginning to see any new day as an opportunity to change my goals. As a devout planner, this is a hard concept to execute. So instead of waiting for the new year to set new goals, I'm going to make changes in the middle of November, because why not?!

Getting back to regular crafting

One of the goals I'm adding to my weekly agenda is DIYing. I've always had a penchant for creating and it's time to return to that. I did a bit of crafting early in the pandemic, but now I want to add little projects, things I can complete in an afternoon, to my weekly list of things I love to do.

Investing in my physical wellness

This is VERY BIG news for me. I recently weighed myself, actually yesterday at the doctor's office, and found out that I've reached my DREAM WEIGHT! I've been wanting to weigh 110 pounds for over a decade. I'm so happy about that. Putting on weight has always been difficult for me and I always feel guilty for wanting that for myself considering the societal norm is to lose weight. So this month is all about intentional physical wellness. Along with eating to keep this 110lbs I also want to embark on a skincare journey. I'm so excited about this and will share more.

A New Journey

I think it's time for change in our nation's capital…and I ain't talking about the president. I may have hinted at this in October's post, but this November, I'm going to try to do something I've never done before. I'm taking a leap of faith and "I want adventure in the great wide somewhere".  I'm embracing adventure and all the interesting twist and turns on this journey.

Revising my Routines

I previously shared my routine during the quarantine and I've loved having a system in place that nourishes my mind, body, and spirit. But lately I've sense that it's time to reexamine and make some changes. There's quite a bit of change happening in my life that's made it challenging to be consistent with my habits, but once things settle a bit, I want to reflect and minimize my daily routines.

So here's to a new month. May it be prosperous, beautiful, and full of wonderful changes. Let me know what you're looking forward to this month in the comments.

Faithfully,

Marie
